Jennifer is the sole artist at Splendour and responsible for creating all ceramics under this brand. She was born and raised in Tauranga, New Zealand, and after moving to Wellington temporarily and enjoying the creative vibe the city brought she continued her journey to Christchurch where she completed her studies in Graphic Design. Realising the desire to be closer to her roots she moved to Hamilton where she has continued to pursue multiple creative outlets including Drawing, Painting, Interior Design, Graphic Design, and House Renovating.

In her more recent years she has found her passion for pottery, having always loved being hands on with everything she does she believes there is something so fulfilling about creating something beautiful out of clay and giving it a new purpose and meaning. Being able to create countless different forms from the same material is incredible.

Jennifer enjoys highlighting the earthy nature of her ceramics by using a range of tones, some favourites being beige, brown and green glazes. She also is highly fond of speckled clay as it also adds to the natural look she is drawn to. A popular technique you will find with a lot of Jennifer’s ceramics is when glazing she likes to leave part of the ceramic unglazed in order to give it multiple textures and also to see the clays original colour, she doesn’t like to hide the clay under various coloured glazes therefore stripping away its natural beauty – she prefers to highlight it.
